    Truth digger
I learned about Scott through a friend in the Canadian Special forces. It was about his famous book, what doesn’t kill us. He help me going on a better wellness path. But like him, I am really sceptic about some magical gorou and products that fix you. I might not connect with all of his podcasts, but I still listen to them all. If you like that someone will dig the truth as close as he can. He his not afraid to change his mind when he realizes he was wrong, to make enemies while doing it. This podcast is for you. It is one of my favorite podcasts. Thank you Scott, keep your hard work. (Sorry about the mistake, I am no writer and I am french)

    Great podcast!!
I was clued into this podcast from Rob Orman’s Stimulus podcast, I’ve been binging it ever since. I’m currently listening to the how to start a cult episode and it is really resonating with me. For what it’s worth, it makes me consider starting my own cult lol. Also I’m not sure why this put my name as “irritated in NY” because I’m not irritated at all. I’m absolutely loving this, no irritation whatsoever.

I only recently discovered Scott’s channel and I am obsessed. The amount of detail that you give in each subject is awesome!

    Authentically thought-provoking and ridiculously insightful
I was previously familiar with Carney's book on the Wim How method (which is an excellent read, by the way) and after I finished that book, I picked up his "The Enlightenment Trap" which I found to be a genuinely thought-provoking exploration of the modern obsession with spiritual enlightenment and self-improvement. From there, I started to dig into his YouTube channel, all of which I found similarly engaging, especially the “How to Start a Cult” episode. I find Carney to be uniquely adept at weaving his personal experiences and his in-depth research to expose the points he’s arguing. Throughout his work, I feel he raises crucial questions about spirituality unchecked devotion to charismatic leaders, and in the same vain as other journalists I enjoy, I find him answering the questions I ask myself as I read. Highly recommended.

    Thought provoking
The one-person podcast format is all too often overly stilted and scripted. Scott is able to breathe life into it like a professor of the college class that you actually enjoyed attending. He effortlessly weaves in personal anecdotes into larger stories and the result is seamless. Interview formats, or two/person pods, only seem to exist to make up for a single host’s lack of charisma or things to say. Scott doesn’t need anyone else. He is a spectacular storyteller. This is a five star podcast.

    Always Very Interesting
I haven’t known much about most of the topics prior to listening, but Scott’s delivery is so compelling it pulls me right into all of the podcasts. The episodes have taught me a lot as well as left me with a lot to consider.

    Very Interesting
I really enjoyed season one episode 11. I spent about 15 years involved in Wicca but became very disillusioned. It’s interesting to hear about the history of the new age law of attraction. I am looking forward to more episodes.

Strong start in the podcast medium.
I’ve enjoyed Scott’s books, What Doesn’t Kill Us, and The Wedge. I like his open-minded investigative journalist approach and his interesting choices of topic. Strong start to the podcast. I’m looking forward to future episodes.
