KentSiriBring it back!Baffled by the negative reviews. If you’re a fan of podcasts like Blank Check, The Big Picture, etc. this is a great listen. Hosts like David Sims and Shirley Li are delightful, insightful, and not overly serious. Would love for this podcast to return.

Bertrand200David sims is the only good thing about itThe other hosts don’t really add much. Without David I think would be not worth listening to.

PodHog123A must for movie fansThis show feels made for me—they cover some of my favorite tv shows and movies. Love the informal, friends-hanging-out vibe, which is just want I want from a podcast. Can’t wait for the new season!

Sometimes Silence is GoldenThe worst podcast I’ve ever heard.Seriously. Don’t do it.
-
ShaiThe worstThis is seriously just the worst kind of pseudo intellectual drivelOne can think of. At once, haughty and stupid. Quite a feat. The insights are childish and churlish.

Listen20004Started off good but I’m quittingThe first couple episodes were really good but the show has devolved into the hosts exhibiting that they’re just too pleased with themselves. Shirley takes up too much time laughing at her own jokes for sure. The other cast members have followed her into wanting to be too cute whereas the show is meant to be a deep examination of shows and films. I he most layered films of our time and they basically say it’s about a witch (it’s not). I don’t mind an occasional f-bomb but they drop them like the uncool kid who does it to impress others. Worst of all was their assertion that THE WITCH had no metaphors going on; I mean, this is one of tI’m done with this podcast.

Sandra. GSo Much GigglingDear millennials, It is possible to have a clever, insightful discussion without a persistent self-deprecating laugh track. It grating-ness is equivalent to that of vocal fry, and undermines the value and weight of your words. If you say something interesting or funny, your audience can decide how to respond. A good concept for a podcast, but not at all the level expected of The Atlantic.
-
Jon08CEnjoyable PodcastThe layout is very straight forward and it is nice to hear a couple different voices/opinions on the same piece of work. Love David Sims! I always appreciate his perspective.

carolinaskeletonShirley, keep gigglingThis is a perfectly fine podcast! It’s more of a hang out vibe of these writers chatting together in an informal way. This has not advertised itself as a Serious Critical Review show so don’t expect that. If you want deeper analysis, go read the reviews on the site or find a show that spends hours on a topic. This is it’s own thing, it’s perfect for a quick commute, and you can tell these colleagues like talking to each other even when they have different opinions.

BuggylooI wanted to like it but ….This is not a good review show. It seems ill disciplined , and badly in need of structure and editing. Not worthwhile sadly (big Atlantic fan here)
-
LadyWithCookiesI’m not even a fan of Rom-Coms, but…I was floored that you did not mention one person of color or rom-coms featuring an all-black/Latinx/Asian cast. Matt Damon is the best representation of higher standards in a leading man?? Him or Brad Pitt are the only men you can envision for the future? Ugh! Your limited POV on the genre and potential talent to only white male/female casts (ok - j-lo being the singular exception) was cringe-worthy and really disappointing.
-
Friuli loverNot up to Atlantic’s standardsI’m very disappointed in this podcast. The reviewers merely discuss their feelings and offer personal anecdotes instead of an intelligent analysis of the work at hand.

Dan321321321Lack of self reflectionThe reviewers on this podcast appear repeatedly unable to separate what a feeling a movie evokes in them from how they feel about said movie. Like art, movies that make them feel a way they’d prefer not to feel are not “bad movies”. Yet when a movie evoked for them the desire to push away from what they truly felt, they confused their desire to avoid their feelings with a desire to avoid the movie. In essence, movies (art) evoked their real emotions and instead of realizing the real thing that art had evoked, they panned the movie. The essence of a bad movie is that it makes you feel nothing; a dull or uninteresting film. Professional movie reviewers shouldn’t repeatedly fall into this trap. 1 Star.

erickswarCan we just stop. All I hear when listening to this podcast is Logan Roy screaming his favorite catch phrase…
-
BlorpalEnamored with themselvesthey laugh a lot but nothing was funny. Maybe I just have a headache.
-
jmsalvatoreTypically abysmalSo tired of podcasts, especially movie podcast, that put in no work. As if three people snarking and laughing is enough, insight and analysis optional.
-
snuffleupagusAMAMyopic takesNot into it. Much better review podcasts out there
-
CkpnutNot recommendedThere are lots of review podcasts and was looking for one that was a bit different. So far it’s not. And usually as a courtesy there is a spoiler warning if big plot points or endings are discussed. Not so here

Margo 1274Succession Season 3 PremierThis show should be titled "The Giggler." Some insight and analysis but Calling the Producer: cut out that annoying giggling. These women sound like twelve year olds Not worthy of The Atlantic.
-
InushaDuneHaving trouble getting anyhting useful from this podcast. I LOVE the Atlantic, and some other programs Ive listened to from them. This is way too fluffy. There is a feel of a college dorm room with people talking about things they may or may not know much about to please each other. Unfinished comments or observations made with excited outbursts from others that obscur the point, isnt analysis. Please guys... I can do this with my cats.

Maureen, AN OK BOOMERMaureen BHow about listening to this pod cast of your self’s, then do a review of “it” Let me say, too much fake laughter. without any alterations at all, this could be a Saturday night live bit.
-
LentilsmcgeeWant this to better!Omg PLEASE less giggling and free-styling, it’s so annoying. I want to hear an Atlantic-style review show: deep, intelligent, well thought out. This is just not it
-
kate kohlerSuccession Season 3 PremiereInteresting exchanges, but too much nervous giggling, for sure. Also, if you can’t explain the dialogue, do a little research so that you can. Calling Connor the First Pancake is perfect: A “first pancake” is the one you use to test the griddle; it is usually too light or too burned, I.e., not worth saving. Miss Havisham famously represents someone who has been jilted by a false suitor and lives bitterly frozen in time, her life ruined as a result of a broken promise. Like Miss H, Shiv fears a similar fate.
-
celiaf90DisappointingThe abundance of nervous giggling made me quit listening after a few minutes.

heneyesNeed more debate among the hostsI disagreed with much of the analysis of the second season of Ted Lasso. I’m surprised that one of the three commentators didn’t push back or voice an opposing, or at least different, opinion about what the creators were trying to do and how effectively they did it. Would have preferred three hosts with three different sets of insights and opinions.
