crayolabrandonBest Puck Talk ShowThis is the talk show every hockey fanatic has dreamed of. Daren Millard is engaging, knowledgeable, and each week leaves you wanting more. I always enjoy the occasional chirp from Bob Bender, I’m amazed he keeps the show’s audio up to par in a remote COVID world. NHL Fantasy On Ice brought me here. Sometimes I get lost in the world of wins, loses, and fantasy stats. Don’t get me wrong, I love stats, but the Chirp reels me back in to why I fell in love with hockey in the first place; the story of the everyday challenges and triumphs a player or team experiences. Millard tells this story well and does so by reeling in great interviews. Not one-minute-rushed, out-of-breath, in-between-period interviews — where the player says no more than 10 words, but actual interviews! I’m excited to see where this show goes, I definitely will be tuning in each week for the Chirp. Excellent podcast, Daren. I always enjoy watching you commentate VGK games.

DSkutaDon’t Bother,If you want a G rated Hockey podcast hosted by Ward Cleaver, this is the podcast for you. The called their podcast a “program” (hence the Ward Cleaver reference) and use cleaned up content from Chiclets to sound cool. I understand that the NHL doesn’t want to use bad language and tell tales of NHLers off ice activities, but at least ask relevant and interesting questions to entertain the listeners. I’ll stick with Chiclets and Curfew where actual players are doing the interviews.
