    This is so perfect
Thank you for reminding me of all the music I fell in love with. I’ve been binging this podcast since I found it and I’m sending it to all of my emo-ish friends. You guys are funny, entertaining, and informative. PLEASE make more episodes.

    What?
One of these guys has such a hateable voice. Always so negative. I want to punch him in the face every time he speaks. Ruins the ‘cast. Most eps have multiple inaccuracies. If you guys are going to opine, great. But if you’re going to give a history lesson, at least know what the F you’re talking about. Good example is the TSL Say It Like You Mean It episode. Uhhh yeah it’s FATE WORKS BOTH WAYS. F*ing TSL sold merchandise for YEARS with that. GD fans have tattoos with that line. Hearing you idiots banter about is it “sleep”? Or could it be “shape” or whatever was mind numbing. So my message is, if you’re going to provide background or insight ensure your info is accurate. Otherwise don’t bother and just be critical of the music.

    Your show is the sex.
(Idk if you remember, but we used to say that all the time on the interwebz back then. My title. Done being weird and cringe. >_< //lol Love the show! These were the bands I grew up on, and I’m 36 now, & it was REALLY a special place in time for teens. We had support for our mental health even if it was NOFX, or MCR, or MSI! These kids have an unattainable dream as far as influencers, & that’s all they have and it’s sad. But your podcast hopefully will direct younger generations to grab a guitar & let out some angst.//You guys should cover the EARLY 2000s ‘The’ (Vines/Hives/Strokes) Hipster movement. I think it bled into Emo. Worth suggesting 🤷🏻‍♀️ Great show guys. Doing awesome!

    The Chef’s Kiss
Just an awesome podcast with some dudes having a good time reminiscing about some great albums.

If you love Jimmy Eat World…
(And I do, big time, just like these guys!)… then you’ll appreciate their deep musical knowledge and insider discussions about not only J.E.W. but other great emo albums that influenced those of us who were in the mix at that time as well as anyone who needs a quick intro to the best genre in music! I love hearing my nerdy emo thoughts echoed back in their discussions and you will, too. Give it a listen!!

    it’s amazing 😂
i love this podcast and it’s so funny to watch them talk about such inspirational bands and how they improved over time AND how they trash talk fall out boy which was so funny cause when they discussed from under the cork tree by fall out boy the entire time they were trash talking pete wentz which is hilarious cause i’ve never seen someone trash talk the bassist of such an iconic band.

    Refreshing,Well Researched and Entertaining.
Admittedly I’m very late to the Emo part and admittedly I love some Bands Moore than others. All of that being said it is a very informative and most importantly its refreshing to hear people talk about what they like positive vibes

    So entertaining and interesting!
You’ve covered some of my favorite albums of all time! I graduated in 1999 so y’all are about the same age as me. I kind of dislike how you stay in the late 90s/early 2000s and neglect to discuss albums such as Diary by SDRE or Dear You by Jawbreaker that most likely had a huge influence on the sound of the bands you’ve discussed. In other words I would a deeper dive into emo but I appreciate what you’ve done so far.

A fun dive into some favorite albums
I have loved binge listening to this podcast. I have been listening to the episodes of albums I love, which has been the majority of them. I’m giving 5 stars because I love how this podcast formatted. I do wish they would bring a female sometimes and I do feel like Blake feels like he knows everything and seems to talk over Kyle and Kris a lot. But maybe that’s just their relationship. Those are my only complaints. I’ve genuinely enjoyed this podcast and am excited to continue listening!

    Awesome
First time listening and got to experience the Everglow by Mae with the guys. Absolutely loved it. Since MAE is such an amazing band like you guys said, I would also like to see you do Morning, Afternoon, and Evening EPs as well.
  • trevans
    Amazing!
Just found this pod when they did the The Everglow by Mae and loved everything they said about one of my favorite albums ever. Scrolled all the way back and saw they did Clarity by Jimmy Eat World for their first episode and I can’t wait to revisit it. I’m new to the vinyl game and those are literally 3 of the first albums I made sure I had. Can’t wait to go back and listen to all epis from the beginning, it seems like these guys’ taste in music aligned with mine during High School but they know way more about music and the genre in generally so it truly is a delight to listen to. I’m recommending this pod to all my friends.
  • disenchanted06
    Really freakin awesome dude
As a “current-day-emo” I love finding some lesser known albums that have been lost to time! I love the early 00’s stuff and this podcast is great to find a cool album in the genre, listen through it, and then listen to the episode on it. I’ve discovered plenty of things that are now some of my favs. Also the guys are fun, lighthearted, insightful, and you can tell that they were Emo at the peak of the movement! Really great for die hard Emo fans and new Emo fans alike, give it a listen for gods sake.

A haven for emo/pop punk fans
Super interesting podcast from three guys who have lived it. Their musicianship and songwriting experience adds a layer of depth to the discussion that is really enjoyable. The overall vibe is positive and I can even listen with my kids in the car. Well done guys!

    Great Podcast!
Blake, Kris, and Kyle are great together. Not only do they know the ins and outs of the genre (and all of its sub-categories), but their breakdowns of each album are so in depth! I always look forward to new episodes. Finding Emo has gotten me into some bands that I’d heard up, but never really gave a listen. Good stuff!

    Nostalgia
Love the albums they discuss and have enjoyed listening back to music I used to love. They have a perspective about music that I enjoy and have learned from.

    Freaking love these guys
Amazing music contemplated and dissected by a group of Emos I want to have lunch with. Great podcast, literally my favorite. At 15, I might be the youngest guy here, despite their banter about us youngins. Excellent conversations and facts in these episodes, I don’t care if you like the music or not, this stuff is awesome
  • onefreedrink
    Solid
One of my favorite podcasts to date. Cover a lot of my favorite albums and the guys sound like they would be a good hangout also.

    Name change
2nd...I owe you guys an apology, plenty of emo in this podcast. I didn't realize I had skipped around to bands I knew and forgot about the rest. I am sorry. FINDING EMO fits...P.S. a drinking game in order every time we hear "to be fair."..1st...Five stars, discovered this podcast late but found myself binge listening daily while working and even after work. The name is off. Maybe FINDING POP-PUNK in EMO. just a thought. I have discovered bands I’ve not heard being of an older genX 70’s -80’s punk- new wave world. I checked out in the 90’s thanks to grunge but found love in pop punk and even emo sounds ( blink, Paramore, MCR so on. Thx guys for the good non political entertainment and even education.

My mom should've had an abortion
Love the podcast! As a still emo kid(class of 09) I love hearing you guys talk about the albums I still blast! The sum 41 line the doctor said should’ve had an abortion got my a whole lot of trouble with my strict Christian parents back in the day! No regerts. Anyways keep it up and thanks for what you do!!
  • Andrew Leinart
    Great podcast
This is one of the most enjoyable track by track album review podcasts available. The guys clearly have a lot of knowledge about the music industry and the scene itself from being in it, but the discussions are always accessible enough that even casual music fans can enjoy.
  • Megatron👍🏾
    Hi guys!
I love this show! It’s wonderful and I found a bunch of albums I never would have listened to otherwise. I know you guys always joke about how no one young listens 😅(kinda true I don’t know anyone my age who know about this podcast) so being 18 probably makes me your youngest audience member. I don’t know, but thanks a ton for the recommendations! I got my own band and I’m writing songs that are inspired by these records now, so thank you again! Keep it up!

    Takes me back
I love the format of the show. It’s great to hear the albums I grew up on being gone through song by song. I also grew up an emo/punk kid in a very Christian household in Oklahoma, so I really relate to a lot of what the guys talk about.

The soundtrack to my coming of age story
I like your deeper convos + natural humor. They make revisiting the soundtrack to my coming of age story even better. I’m going through past eps and find myself wishing for a female perspective. More “separating art and artist” discussion happened on Paramore than Brand New.
  • Toybeck
    Talk about nostalgia
Listening to this takes me back to middle school and high school, in the best way. I’m rediscovering my favorite songs. It also feels like sitting around with friends and discussing your favorite bands!
  • mdawg888
    Amazing
As an emo-head in the late 90s early 00s, this is the perfect pod for me. Well done fellas

    Nostalgia overload. There’s nothing I don’t like.

    Good show
Concise reviewing of the music production/theory and fun takes on the genre!

    OMG Kyle is the cutest!
I don’t know what emo is or what any of these albums are but I listen just for Kyle’s sweet sweet voice.
  • jgreasy211
    great memories
Watch your step… Nostalgia bombs left and right! 🤘 It’s great hearing these 3 dudes geek out on the albums many of us hold so near and dear. So good, that I get about halfway through an episode, that I gotta hit pause and just go listen to the full songs myself. These dudes have a lot more music experience than I so it’s fun to hear the “inside baseball talk” of what it takes to lay down an album. Longer music clips would be awesome, but I assume that’s a limit of copyright privileges. That said, I do have some constructive criticism. I have a hard time listening to this in a car stereo. Blake is loud enough, but Kris and Kyle are super quiet and muddled. Plus the music clips are twice as loud as the talking parts, so I’m having to keep a hand on the volume knob. Leveling the volume and centering the audio might help, but y’all probably know better than I do.
  • Jason Troutman
    Pure. Genius.
3 dudes that know their craft and absolutely LOVE music.

    So good!
Taking me back to the beginning of learning how to play music 🙂

    Nostalgia Overload
Absolutely love the episodes so far, guys. Keep ‘em coming! I wish this could be like a radio setting so I can call in and make comments to spark more conversation. Looking forward to more episodes!

    Diggin it guys!
Thanks for the reminder of some great times!

    All the music I love
Music can transport you back to a different time in your life. I loved these bands and this music brings back such great memories from that time. I enjoy “inside baseball” on the music from these experienced musicians. I have a long list of albums I am waiting for them to move through.
  • Conservtv
    Freakin sweet!
I love it! These guys do a great job going through the album, giving some new insight to bands I love, and are also fun to listen to. I would give more then 5 stars if possible
  • MattyVaughan
    Can’t get enough!
These conversations are entirely cathartic. I need it to just keep happening.
  • sheepgoat3
    Love It!
So much fun to remember these albums! I’ve been listening to the same music for 20 years now. These are the exact right 3 dudes for this podcast!!
  • tha Fisch
    Sweet nostalgia
Oh to be in my 20s again. This podcast takes me back to the music I loved before working for the man and gaining in weuight what I've lost in hair. The Finding Emo boys are national treasures. Heroes.

    Amazing!
