Cut the Craft a cut above the rest
So many wonderful things happen in this podcast. The range of people Amy and Brien interview is great, and while the starting questions are the same for everyone, the ensuing conversation goes in so many unique directions that I never know what will happen. Thanks for a consistently interesting and engaging podcast!

    Inspiration
I appreciate that you allow artisans to share their stories. You listen without interruption so we can hear the possibilities. I will never be an artist at this level. I dip my hands in so many different areas to experience them. Episode 31 is my new favorite.

    Inspiration
Smart, funny, thought provoking, and inspirational. The perspectives that the hosts and guests provide on their areas if expertise and creative processes are fascinating. But what keeps me listening are the truly inspiring life lessons about traditions, sense of equity/philanthropy, sacrifice, and resilience that are engrained in makers and the community of high-end craftspeople. Thanks Amy and Brien - I love this podcast.

    A new favorite
Amy and Brian do an amazing job interviewing, but they go a step further—they clearly work hard to find guests from diverse crafts and backgrounds. If you listen to all the episodes, you end up with an inspiring, informative, vibrant, optimistic, realistic, and evolving perspective on craft in the English-speaking world. Did I oversell it? Look, just listen to this podcast.

Learn About New Crafts & Meet Great People
Brien and Amy do a fantastic job, and I truly look forward to each new episode. I first became interested in the show because of one guest in particular, but quickly decided to stick around after that episode. Thoughtful questions and traditional crafts are a lovely combination, and I appreciate what Brien and Amy are doing to help preserve and promote both these crafts and craftspeople.

    Hurray for Craft
Thanks for a great show! Cut the Craft has been a warm addition to my podcast stable. Wonderful to hear interesting conversations from the broad field of handcrafts. For myself, as a full time maker, it’s nice to have some good company in the studio to help pass the time. Cheers!

    Fantastic!
This is everything a podcast should be. Amy and Brien have great chemistry, are witty and sharp, and ask questions that draw interesting answers from guests that make me reflect on my own craft. Keep up the good work!

    Delightful
Amy and Brien are fun hosts who do a great job guiding informative and entertaining interviews. I appreciate how they ask guests to explain processes and lingo that someone who is unfamiliar with a particular medium or technique might not know. This is a great listen for people interested in the world of craft, hoping to get a view into the lives of makers.

    Fantastic!
This is a wonderful podcast on handcraft! Amy and Brien, being craftspeople themselves, ask really interesting and intuitive questions and somehow manage to allow someone unfamiliar with a craft to get a grasp on what is being discussed but simultaneously go deeper into their subject's craft. Great work!

Finding a way to hear about other crafts is a great way to learn and expand how I approach green wood work. Amy and Brien are wonderful hosts and just plain fun.

    Craft, it’s what’s for dinner.
Amy and Brien are naturals, and it’s been so much fun hearing about the process, evolution, and struggles faced by people crafting beautiful works of art. I feel like I’ve been living under a rock. THANK YOU for exposing me to this lovely world of craftspeople. I’ll never look at these things the same. ❤️

    Crafted Podcast for the Masses
Have you ever wondered what it takes to produce your favorite one-of-a-kind handcrafted artisanal (insert item here) that you love so much? Have you ever wanted to get to know the artist who created said item? Well thanks to the good folks behind the new podcast Cut the Craft you can! There is no doubt that the growing attraction to handcrafted goods is in part because artisan goods encourage people to slow down and savor impeccably made craftsmanship. But so often we mere mortals are clueless to the work the workmanship that goes into each item. In an age that is immersed in technology, instant gratification and mass-marketed consumerism, how refreshing it is to sit down with a favorite local brew and enjoy the banter between hosts Amy and Brien that makes Cut the Craft so unique among the many podcasts available. Each episode highlights a different craftsperson as they delve into their respective chosen medium in a way that makes it seem the conversation is going on around your own kitchen table. Even the advertisements are worth a listen, a kind of homestyle with a friendly “Hey!” Do yourself a favor and give Cut the Craft a listen – you will not regret it!

Right out of the gate this podcast has quality content and quality production. The two hosts have a great sense of humor but still reign it in to ask their guest meaningful questions. I’m looking forward to hearing more of this series!

A must-listen podcast for fellow craftspeople and artists
I’m a fellow bookbinder and artist, I have a multitude of interests and own a one-woman bindery and printshop. Working alone in a studio can feel creatively isolating and it’s nice to hear fellow craft practitioners discuss their work, their struggles, their interests, and their inspirations. It’s a refreshing and inspiring opportunity to listen to people who are dedicated to their craft inviting and inspiring others to talk about their work and build a supportive podcast community. Listening to these episodes will definitely will be a mainstay in my bindery practice. Thank you Brien and Amy!
