Doug whyCame for the Kenny Rankin, stayed for the obscure vinyl!Loving your spotlight on lesser known grooves! So great that you use the actual vinyl in the show, rather than a digital substitute. Sounds freaking great. Thanks for making the Kenny Rankin feature! Long overdue. Looking forward to checking out more. Btw- the Live From Bottom Line album originally came out in the Late 90s, when Kenny was still with us. I was lucky to be at that show.. I was underage, and my dad talked me into the club. Got to see him several times, always great. And my copies of Mind Dusters, Family and Columbia Singles cost me around $50 each in the early days of GEMM (precursor to Discogs). Now they can be found for much less. Those are great 60s folk-psych time capsules. And the Little David records are all classics. Try to find his self released Christmas album! Well worth it.. the best Christmas album you never heard! Cheers!

DJ HamoodyGreetings from Qatar 👋🏽I discovered this podcast during the lockdown when I was searching to hear discussions about obscure R&B albums (Deniece Williams brought me here. Thank you for that!) I’ve been an avid listener since then. And what a great show I stumbled on! Just like the great surprising albums that were discussed in this podcast, the show was a surprising breath of fresh air, as music enthusiasts/podcasters can be generally obnoxious, dismissive, elitist & frustratingly shallow. The 3 gentlemen who run this show on the other hand, have exuded a lot of compassion, childlike curiosity, insight, depth, warmth, empathy, fun, open mindedness, a great deal of emotional intelligence & cultural sensitivity, not to mention great sense of humor & have shown good chemistry & grace to the guest speakers even if some were nervous to come to the show. Basically all the qualities that should be employed when a group of people engage in music conversations. My only gripe is the short length of those episodes because I don’t want any of these conversations to end. I have discovered so many great albums & revisited old ones that I forgot or somehow dismissed thanks to this show. Salute, gentlemen! May you never lose the joy of curiosity & the love for music. Cheers!

SpiritWheelsBehind the musicThis is the “special features” that should be part of every CD—the story behind the music and biography of the singer/band. Great companion playlist on Spotify for the music selections, .

Skeleton DustA fun and informative podcast for the diggersIf you’re an insatiable digger like myself that is always mining for new and unknown sounds, this podcast serves as a great guide for your journey. They cover a wide swath of territory, so even if your thing is new age, folk, hard rock, disco, jazz, or soul/r&b, you’re sure to discover some new and affordable music to add to your collection. Highly recommended!

SchwiftyNosThey're just making things upThis project is a total waste. Not worth your time or anyone else's. I was excited to do some deep dives into older albums, but it took 10 minutes of listening to realize that these podcasters don't actually care about facts--they're just riffing with no actual effort into checking that what they are saying is true. Don't believe me? They start with "When U Were Mine" and say it's one of Lauper's record-setting four Top 5 (US) singles from this album. That song wasn't even released as a single anywhere but Canada, where it didn't even come close to the Top 40. They then give Lauper songwriting credit for "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." It's a cover. They do the same with "All Through the Night." Also a cover. And Lauper didn't direct any of her videos until a decade after this album. Why listen to people tell you falsehoods that they could have avoided with literally 10 seconds of research? This is slapdash junk content.

Lord TedfordPersonable and informativeI love spending hours digging through the dollar bins, boxes and milk crates under the counters for records I haven’t heard before. I don’t really look to score top-dollar titles, just good music, so I was tickled when I saw the flyer for the podcast in a box of records I had ordered through Discogs. There were a few titles I had been looking for but the rest of the stack was titles or artists I wasn’t familiar with, so kind of like the digital version of digging. And that’s what this podcast is like. You’ve picked up something from a bin—it caught your eye for some reason, or you keep seeing it, so now you want to hear if it’s any good. And now we get to hear about it from some folks with well formed opinions and deep knowledge. The back and forth between the hosts is nice and lively, which is nice because there are a lot of podcasts out there where the heart is in the right place, the knowledge is there, but the tone is dry, scholarly, pedantic. IBTFAD is most definitely not one of those. If you’re reading this, the title probably grabbed you. Put it on the turntable and give it a spin.

Brother Marcus GordonWatch out world!A new power trio is on the scene. Not unlike Cream or Rush, this podcast will send you on a most excellent ride through the vinyl dust bin collection of the cosmos. They clean them off and freshen them up through considered experience and humor. And they may even make you the best taco ever to hold you until the next stop on the way through these recorded forget me nots. Keep 'em coming.
