GrimkeeSmart Insightful Women Telling TruthI never miss an episode. The hosts know the law, understand the Constitution and think sociologically. They make me and I learn something every time.
-
Nymike1961InspiringThese women keep me sane.

brandzr0Learning Law, but Awesome!I love these ladies! They have found a perfect balance between entertainment & education. I always feel smarter after this show & a bit happier despite the chaos right now.

CzarPeter727Bad FaithThis podcast is not informative but just partisan trash. Having opinions and biases is fine. But they openly trash the justices and outcomes they openly dislike. They do not engage in good faith. They do not try to see the best interpretation of those they disagree with. Honestly they sound like a bunch of resentful liberals, which is no better than the resentful conservatives coming out of the Dailywire or Bannon’s War Room. These people are educated, intelligent and reflective people. Their utter failure to actually be any of that for this kind of clout is even more heinous to me.

PoppyisrealHoorah for lifting your voiceYou are all awesome. Kate ♥️ thanks for taking on the knuckle heads in congress. You are fabulous.

Presidential EthicsCan’t Listen AnymoreHonestly I used to enjoy the learned commentary from these three but I cannot stand the level of sarcasm nor the reading of opinions with imagined tones and inflection. Was literally just listening and had to turn it off. You are professional women and it seems that you could present your material as such. This probably works well with like-minded people. But if you want your ideas to penetrate with those who are not already on your side, it seems that you could trust substantive commentary to stand on its own. (I’ll leave Kate out of this criticism because she is generally thoughtful and respectful. Thank you Kate!)

CanLongEndureFantásticoEnlightening, educational, inspiring & infuriating! I listen every time a new episode drops. Kate’s performance at the Senate hearing was magnificent - after she made her first perfect mic-drop comment, Hawley just sputtered & was too scared to give her space to speak again.

Heavyrescue54Always a banger.That’s it. That’s the review.

ClovisKid4321Unbalanced view of court proceedings and rulingsI was really hoping to find a balanced review and recaps of court proceedings and rulings. Instead, it’s a hard left view of the courts peppered with ad hominem attacks, unnecessarily foul language, and whiney pessimism (sky is falling) when ruling don’t go their way. This is all fine for a podcast. BUT, there’s no indication of this bias in the description. If you’re looking for an in-depth view of Supreme Court proceedings and rulings with an informative, balanced discussion, look elsewhere.

discorivGreat Guests at LiveshowGreat listen always—really enjoyed Norm at the recent live show. Love hearing from lawyers who have been able to throw wrenches in Trump and his cronies’ plans.

ZeffrossNo words…but here are a select few.I’m once again just speechless at the cruelty and completely inhuman actions that plague our government, spearheaded by the one and only, burnt-Cheeto and failed oompaloompa cast member of the real housewives of Willy Wonka, little donnie j trump. (Failed capitalization is purposeful, he doesn’t even deserve that courtesy). More importantly my congratulations go to the woman responsible for the magnificent piece of literature that kept me laughing throughout the weekend. Also, made me cry three times during the special thanks at the end. ( The stupid A**holes that are destroying the medical research institutions throughout the country, in light of the tragic loss of the young man acknowledged in this book for his role as researcher, is absolutely infuriating.) The podcast is a unique departure from the horrific realities of everyday life. I find myself listening to them as one would listen to a favorite song from their times in high school, or college. One that brings back a memory of joy, or security, or innocence. Well apparently the voices that bless the airwaves from these three amazing scholars, women, daughters of fathers truly transcend this godforsaken moment in time. It’s temporary and i constantly remind myself of that. I am perpetually hopeful (like Kate), hilariously pessimistic (like Melissa), and full of rage better expressed by one sexy justice named Keagan (like some chick on The NY Times best sellers’ list.) If i was into women i dont know which one I would be fawning over more, so we can just say I would apparently have a thing for all three of you. Actually, i think that i might be in love with Justice Jackson, sorry ladies. Any way thanks for all that you do. We know it’s exhausting, and we can’t live without it. Also my plug for some merch, or at least something that would be hilarious is a special flag for the upcoming PRIDE event. I have had a few renditions made to see what it might look like, but essentially it’s a tribute to one ms. Lady alito…It’s a flag or a T shirt with a flag on it, flying high waving ion the wind…its upside down and it says very clearly VERGOGNA. The flag is either a rainbow, or the upside down word is in rainbow print, I haven’t decided how it looks best. If it’s a shirt it can be accompanied by a trag line that gives it a little context. The flag can speak volumes for itself. Those who know, will know. And then we should heavily sell them in jersey or wherever those crackpot flag lovers live. We could give several to their neighbors. I am sure they would appreciate the thoughtfulness and the willingness to commit to a joke. I wish I could post one of the picture of the flags that I created. But cheers. Keep up the good work. Congrats again Leah.

Johnsm446 Republicans Wearing Black RobesFinally, there is an honest discussion about 6 Republican justices wearing black robes on the Supreme Court. Too many pundits dismiss the justices’ obvious right-wing political bias, and even recommend not mentioning their Republican loyalties. Yet their conservative biases are easily recognizable within their legal decisions.
-
Gene MileLaw school for dummiesA wonderful, funny, timely guide to the Supreme Court and our descent into fascism. Pop culture references are mixed with detailed analyses of cases and rulings in a way that is accessible to lay people. Love it!

~ListenerReaderGreat Law Podcast! Great Book -Lawless How the Supreme Court Runs on Conservative Grievance, FringeI bought Leah Litman's book on Audible where she reads the book herself. I am excited to hear her pound Samuel Alito into the ground. The podcast is fabulous, wonderful, I listen to every episode.
-
This Way And ThatEducational and sassyI listen to every episode the day it comes out, without fail. I learn something every time, even if they’re discussing well-publicized topics. The lake of sass against conservative grievance is deep and wide, and I live for it. Smart women speaking truth to power is all I want to hear right now.
-
sfncarAll read Lawless!!Read this book!! It works in so many ways. I got the audio to keep me company and alert while I knit. Perfect choice but not enough so I ordered the hardback for reading in bed! Love it!

PetkewecOK BoomerSo disappointing to hear that evidently Boomers are the worst communicators, over-sharers, and least skilled managers. People are so different! Thank goodness that a generation is actually better than the last one instead of only thinking you are. Nobody ever felt like That before! There’s no way your generation hasn’t improved, are of course better and first group of improved human beings, especially with all the kindness and open listening conversation, truth and mis-information displayed on social media. Wait! That’s the bad probably stirred into the badder batter by Boomers! Ageism. Have you heard of it? Maybe it is a thing, but what would a stereotyped Boomer know? Have I told you about my toenail arthritis?

Truthful yodaThe Best Legal PostcastMy wife and I enjoy this show immensely and find it so informative. We have to listen together and discuss all the time. Kate, Melissa and Leah have great chemistry and are so smart and funny. A must listen for anyone interested in government, the law or the courts.
-
ConfusedInTheMiddleLove it! Give us a crossover!I love this podcast and the coverage of the Supreme Court that it provides. It’s great to have a reliable source of information about the branch that other news doesn’t touch as much. Thank being said, I found your despair over the dispatch acquiring scotus blog to be strange. I also listen to Advisory Opinions from the dispatch, and they seem to provide honest objective coverage of the supreme court’s cases, just like your own. I think listeners from both sides would benefit a lot from seeing a crossover episode between y’all and Advisory Opinions. I would be neat to get to hear the back and forth between reasonable and educated people from both sides of the aisle. Idk, just my unqualified two cents.
-
mhaliettIncessant cutsie banterAvoid. Not a deliberative recounting of either the facts or the law, but more incessant, cutsie banter than insight.

MurderNoteI like itThe ladies are killing it 💥

jessk44881Paul, WeissPretty striking that SS doesn’t have much to say about PW’s spineless capitulation to the admin since Melissa’s husband works there. An episode started with Jon Lovett lecturing everyone to do something. Guess that doesn’t extend to law firms if it could cost them money. Update: as far as anyone is aware, Melissa’s husband still works at P,W. I don’t know how these 3 can lament issues such as Thomas’s conflicts of interest when one is married to a guy that has agreed to do Trump’s dirty work.
-
NYCEsquireSmartest deep dive on SCOTUSHands down the best SCOTUS analysis. Those giving this show 1 star reviews and claiming misandry (which is not a real thing) are proving the points being made by the show hosts. If you can’t handle women giving a genius breakdown of Supreme Court jurisprudence then just move along.
-
Lani MulhollandUnserious. Not credible.Too biased to be credible.
-
epaisleyWell Executed and EntertainingThis podcast is a great and timely listen. It’s entertaining and snarky at times without being annoying. These women know their stuff.
-
queueaInformativeLove the pod and appreciate the analysis tremendously. It informs me without making me completely depressed - which is a feat. It’s very long. My one wish is that crooked would limit podcasts to 40-60 min, especially as they release more and more.
-
KimbobinatorSeems like a good show, but first episode has a sexist joke?Seems like they know what they are talking about and have good opinions, but in the first episode I listen to there’s a sexist anti-male joke against short men? I’ll keep listening till I hear another dumb sexist take. Welp. Didn’t take long to change my review from a 4 to a 2. Just don’t like men I guess. Good luck getting an audience with anti-men attitudes.
-
CwoowcSomewhat informative, Often annoyingThe hosts are undoubtedly experts in their fields and offer some very insightful analysis in every episode. However, I personally do not find their style of banter to be entertaining. In fact, I often find it grating. 5-4 podcast is superior, but this one is also good.
-
JRL19606Men are evil.I get it, thanks, you hate men and men are the perpetrators of all the ills and violence that happens. Understood. Can you talk about the Supreme Court and legal culture that surrounds it now? No?Just misandry? Okay. Take care.
-
GiorgosTheodorakisVocal fryHard to listen to.
-
Mac_User_01Not timelyGiven the degree of constitutional crisis, our nation is facing, and the rapid evolution of legal proceedings, I am extremely disappointed at the lackadaisical, infrequent release schedule of the Strict Scrutiny podcast. By the time this podcast releases an episode, it is already out of date. Please commit to providing more frequent updates, as the current schedule is out of touch with reality.
-
rohtonsonAre you satirists or analysts: choose one.I find the legal analysis to be reasonable and well considered. This podcast fulfills a niche within the law podcast universe. However there are times throughout the podcast episodes that I feel whip sawed by its schizophrenic nature. As I settle into thoughtful discussion of issues before the Court I find myself taken completely out of it by the commentators flippancy, poor attempts at humor or moral outrage, and offensive language. I don’t have a problem with swearing in podcasts as a general rule; I’m an adult. Fine. It is jarring though to be hit with F-bombs in a SCOTUS focused podcast. This show is stepping on itself.
-
Bountiful!109Good info- funky deliveryI don’t understand any of the first 3 minutes of insider jokes. Why does the one woman talk a mile-a-minute, and the others talk like middle schoolers? Can’t get past that to listen to the show.
-
Briard girlCan we start with your opening?I am addicted to your opening music. I am also in love with RBG’s narrative. Lastly, I need the food tighter Bobn pm

To T or not to TeeSurely you’re kidding!I’m not! And stop calling me, Shirley! If you would’ve told me, I would be listening to a podcast about the Supreme Court… I would never have believed it. But this podcast provides so many insights that I find helpful in understanding much of the insanity that we are experiencing in modern times. The hosts are fun to listen to. Thanks for taking me somewhere I never thought I’d go!

Mack on Bluesky ☺️Absolutely love this podcastLove listening to the ladies tell it like it is. Great show. It’s definitely added to my “ play next “ queue.

WordPlayer500Losing ControlRetaking The Lost Control: • We used to have Colonialists (mainly white Christian male) who owned & ran everything • We then introduced ‘The Constitution’ & gave control to ‘we The People’ whom they controlled, (via voting, to own their own destiny & manage their prior controllers), • We then added more salt to the gaping wound by giving further control to additional subjects they used to control: Women, Slaves & Non-white, Disabled, LGTBQ+ … Create Corporate Colonialism & regain control: • In late 60s, Milton Freidman introduced the Neo-Liberal Economic model & received a questionable Nobel Prize • Some of Milton’s own words: “Tax is Government Theft”, or “Privatize, Privatize, Privatize”, or “Deregulate” – a foundation for the Republican Platform to Shrink the Gov: • The model was popularized by President Reagan in the 80s through slogans like: “Government is the enemy”, or “Starve the Beast”, or “Individualism” – implying it’s your fault if you’re poor, and other such nonsense like “Greed is Good” supported by the Religious Right! • Hence began a $50T wealth transfer from the low/middle income to the top • Collectively, this platform and the SCOTUS’s expansion of corporate voting voice ($$$) gave rise to the expansion of the corporate size & power through massive consolidations, including the takeover of the media • Creating the Corporate Colonialism powered with full citizenry rights, but without any country/geo-allegiance, using the Gov as its instrument to control laws & regain control A full circle: • Here we are - Cut Taxes, Privatize, Deregulate, Own the Media – the Platform on steroids • Congress, including the democratic party has had its hands so deep in the pockets of the corporate colonialists that they are also trapped in a web they wove over decades of misusing democratic principles for their own gains • Adam Smith must be rolling in his grave – This is not the “invisible hand” he had envisioned, or the treatment of the workers & equitable wages he had promoted!

Valued Pod ListenerElie Mystal is in the chat!I was introduced to this podcast while searching for what Elie has to say about the current rogue administration, and the constitutional crisis we are currently in that the SCOTUS ushered in by giving the orange felon unlimited immunity. I’m glad I found you! I’m always up for SCOTUS scrutiny. I really enjoyed the discussion. Keep up the great work!
-
KraqyOMG Thank youI graduated law school in 1992 from an Ivy League school, you may have heard of. The Constitutional law they taught, certainly as imperfect as it was, had hope (Warren Court, etc). My law school produced a President I am truly proud of, although, again, imperfect. Now Constitutional law has been completely transformed and perverted, as this pod explains in excruciating detail. As a female lawyer who now leads a law firm, I am so grateful for this pod’s amazing scholars, especially given all the craziness that is going on. I love, love, love this show, and couldn’t live without it. It makes me crazy, angry, and inspired all at the time same time. I am so grateful. Tell me more about what we can do to help. Educate us. Thank I. I love you folks. ❤️🙏

AlfaBlue02Freaking AWESOME!Ladies, thank you so much! I *always* learn something, and your presentation is lively, erudite, and as good-humored as the situation allows. Keep up the GREAT work!
-
EpochēStudent“Atextual….”Stopped my run to say that while there is helpful analysis on some aspects of emerging events, the commentary and rhetoric of this show partakes in the type of irritating cheap witticisms so endemic in our age, that it cuts of the grounds of possibility for fruitful dialectical and dialogical engagement. Allahu akbar!!

Craig New OrleansJoint meeting CJR comments / patNice Podcast, except that Trump’s brief comments and pat on shoulder of Chief Roberts happened BEFORE not after his 100 minute “speech”. Love the podcast and all the episodes!
