Liz KitchensOne of my favorite podcasts about writing and publishingI never fail to pick up a tidbit that helps me with my writing or submissions projects. If you haven’t already listened to the latest episode with Sari Bottom you must check it out. Sari is delightful and there is a wealth of information to be consumed.

K. GrazHonest, Thoughtful, ConversationsI just finished the episode titled Origin Story and felt it was one of your best. Your guests had so much valuable insight to share. Thank you for bringing a wide variety of authors and topics to your show.

GretchCherWrite-MindedLoved the last two episodes and just wanted to give a shout out to the graphic memoir Queen of Snails by Maureen Burdock, in Santa Fe, friend of Ellen Schecter. I read it in one day, just devouring the combo of powerful personal story along with her compelling drawings that just brought it all together. I’ve read only a half dozen graphic memoirs but this one really moved me. And thanks for every episode!
-
dreamtimerWriting with urgencyI just finished listening to this interview with N.D. Jones and feel compelled to write and express my gratitude to you, your show, and this author.

Becoming Mrs. Johnson*****Best Podcast Out There!*****These two know what they are talking about. I can’t get enough! Between their knowledge and their guests, I can’t stop listening. If you are a writer, you won’t be able to either.

CIT2022Any aspiring author needs this podcastThis is an interview-style podcast where hosts Brooke Warner (who has her own publishing house) and Grant Faulkner (director of NaNoWriMo) talk to big-name authors, mostly New York Times bestsellers. What I like most is how thought-provoking their questions are. I’ve listened to so many podcasts where the interviews fall short because the interviewer can’t think on their toes to continue moving the conversation in the right direction. I’m so impressed by both Brooke and Grant’s ability to ask off-the-cuff questions. They’re both really well-spoken. They do a great job of explaining what it takes to create an engaging story while highlighting the author’s background in a way that keeps me interested every step of the way. Because Brooke has her own publishing house (She Writes) that focuses on women authors, I’m constantly learning about new memoirs to add to my list. In listening this podcast, I’m now in Brooke’s memoir writing class.

abt41253ReadingI was so excited about the topic and then delighted that Brooke had enjoyed the EK episode w Maryann Wolf as much as I did. Thank you for the review of Wolf's fascinating reading. Here's to reviving deep reading and listening to wonderful podcasts!

Christa HillhouseMy favorite writing podcast!!I listen to a lot of writing podcasts. Write Minded is my very favorite. Every single episode is informative, thoughtful and inspiring, so much that I often re-listen to my faves. In addition to learning things about craft and process, I’ve also been introduced to many amazing writers. I look forward to each new episode every Monday!!
-
BPfreegaslolGreat inspiration for writersThis show really is great inspiration for anyone writing a novel of any kind. There is a lot of talk of memoir writing, though, so a writer of that specific genre will get a lot out of this podcast.
-
sarahaloeveraGreat podcast for aspiring writers & moreI love NaNoWriMo and all the content they produce. Even if I’m not actively engaged with the online community at points throughout the year, their emails and this podcast help me stay inspired and motivated to write. Brooke and Grant are thoughtful hosts, and I always learn something from them and their guests. Keep it up y’all! <3
-
writerwalkereaterLearnI learn a few gems or a boat load of gems from each podcast. Excellent guests. I especially like the shows about marketing and publishing.

muddygirlmediaWrite-Minded is ALL RIGHT!For all of us right-brained writers, it’s sometimes (often?) challenging to face the empty page. For me, getting in the right mindset is about being inspired. Podcast listening (while walking) is my “before” work so I love this podcast for its terrific guests, recommendations for writers and book trends. Grant Faulkner (NANOWRIMO) and Brooke Warner (SheWrites) are engaging hosts and friendly voices to walk and listen to - then I sit down and work!
-
NatashaMillerStraight Talk by Industry VeteransAs a new author I am thankful to listen to these episodes. The learning curve to figure out the publishing industry is steep, but shows like this helps fast-track the experience. Thank you! Good stuff!

HartmanJPerfect Weekly InspirationFor any writer who wants to write more but finds themselves lacking motivation, or battling resistance, “Write Minded” is a fresh, constructive, and uplifting show which has improved my mind set, defanged some of the imaginary villains of my writing process, and has introduced me to countless mentors who are modeling success through their daily practice. Brooke and Grant are authentic, charming, and earnest in their mission to get writers writing, and provide the perfect combination of energies for the show. My only criticism is in regards to the titles of the episodes, which rarely relate to the majority of content in each episode and therefore set up expectations that aren’t met and can leave one disappointed at the episode’s end, in spite of the overall value of content in the show. I’d much prefer a more straightforward approach which simply lists the primary guest of the show and their most recent work.

Pippa B.Excellent podcastI've been listening to Write-Minded for about a year, and I'm consistently impressed with the quality of the episodes. Each week brings an insightful interview with an interesting guest, and the hosts ask unique and thoughtful questions that really get to the core of the writing experience. Thought-provoking and engaging, honest and inspiring, this podcast is a great way to help someone get back into writing, learn more about writing, or just maintain their writing momentum and enthusiasm for the craft. I also like the length of the episodes; 30 minutes once a week makes it easy to slip a bit of brilliance into the day. Well done, Brooke and Grant. Looking forward to season 4!
-
ElisachayaConnecting the dots!Grant and Brooke and the inspiring authors they interview each week—this is my favorite podcast! Variety, humor, depth, and warmth bring listeners in touch with writers of fiction, memoir, crime, and biography. We get a glimpse of creative decisions, intuitive work arounds, and life experience in the work of the author. Each week this view into how and sometimes why they “did it” is a stellar reminder that there is no absolute right way to share the story we want to share. Fellowship! Thank you Brooke and Grant!
-
Ken GuidrozMy favorite podcast on writing.I love this podcast. They get right to the point, no commercials, no plugs, the dialogue upfront is interesting and sets the stage. The show moves at a nice clip, great questions, insightful, great material for aspiring writers.Even the little book recommendation at the end is nice. Just a great show congratulations Brooke and Grant.
-
Sds2Focused, professional and encouragingI appreciate everything about this podcast. The content is relevant to my writing aspirations, presented in a compact 35-40 minutes by articulate, relaxed hosts. So respectful of everyone’s time! A pleasure to tune in.

JeannieBGuyObsessedI finally figured out how to post a review. Will wonders never cease. I am so hooked. No matter my writerly mood, I find the Write-minded Podcast is the answer to all my woes. I just can’t get enough, and since I’m late to the game (only started listening a few months back), I can enjoy a daily dose of the Brooke and Grant Show. What’s amazing to me is how I find comfort in the variety of voices interviewed, and the variety of ways good writers write. What I love most is the sharing of writers’ stories, bookended with the wisdom and wit of the hosts. Best obsession I have.
-
fatboyslim496Good showThis podcast is full of useful advice from writers of all different backgrounds and genres. Perhaps the most important thing about this podcast is that it gives everyone permission and validation for telling their own stories. I have two pieces of constructive criticism. First, I’d love to have a little more time with the guests. Second, a little more energy could go a long way! Regardless of these small things, this show is awesome. Nice job. I plan to purchase “Ready, Set, Memoir!” soon!
-
Brad WozThoughtful guidance for writersThis podcast leaves no aspiring writer behind. Through a wide range of topics from indie publishing to YA and Mid age lit, to pep talks that empower writers to claim their own agency, I have learned so much! The guests are as insightful as the hosts, and the result is a thoughtful podcast that provides meaningful guidance for writers from all corners of the page. Thank you Brooke and Grant!

Sauvignon SingWriters Unite!Every episode I have listened to has provided excellent motivation and tips for staying in the game of writing. Although my genre is memoir, I always hear something from authors in other genres that can open avenues for me in my process. Thank you, Brooke and Grant, for finding such amazing authors and asking them questions that get to the heart of the matter!

thembob68So inspiring!I love this podcast. I’ve written in other mediums, but recently got back into writing fiction and it’s been wonderful having a new podcast to dig into it. This one is always inspiring and interesting.

LimakateInspirational PodcastHi Brook and Grant, I want to thank you for your wonderful weekly podcast. I have gathered so much inspiration over the past six months or so, gleaning inspiration from both of you as well as from your guests. You’re in my ears during my morning walk, and I find myself stopping often to open Notes on my phone and write down the name of a book, a quote, or an idea. THANK YOU!

WolfieMBGot me over a humpMahalo Grant and Brooke for this episode. It really helped me get over a hump. The reminder that good is the enemy of perfect and to approach the work in bite-size pieces while setting intention were super valuable at this point in my writing career after working on my memoir, The Mother Road, for almost a decade!
-
BluRay01Excellent podcast! As someone who is a newcomer to writing and also late to discover my creative path, I find this podcast so inspiring. There are many ways to fit writing into life, and many definitions of writing success, and this podcast highlights that.
-
TraveluvThe Best Podcast for WritersBrooke and Grant’s podcast gets to the heart of the writing life. Their guests are informative and knowledgeable. There is always wisdom to be gained from any episode as a result of the outstanding writers they host.
-
Hoosier1966Wise hosts supporting writersThe podcast gives me a weekly place to hear about different kinds of writers and topics that support and motivate and teach me things about writing that are new. I’ve written poetry, journaling my way from high school through many experiences in my career and traumas along the way. I am now, in retirement, writing in my favorite genera, a mystery. I’ve written every type of business writing, from technical to contracts to websites. I wonder if you know many people who start fiction writing in retirement.
-
MartaphorThe podcast I never regret / That item on the menu you keep ordering.Write Minded is the podcast I can consistently play without any ambient fomooop (fear of missing out on other podcasts). Every week, I know I’m going to hear quality interviews, rich and compassionate insight, and actionable advice. I guess Write Minded is kind of like that juicy burger or cocktail that you keep reordering on the menu, despite other options; it always hits the spot. Your writing mind is in good hands with Brooke & Grant.

Liza PorterAlmost all the archive of Write-OnLuddite that I am, I finally figured out how to do a review! Brooke and Grant, thank you so much for your show. I am a writer who didn’t write much this year, until now. Because of your podcast. I listen, something you or your guest says reminds me of something. I write. I listen. I write. I listen, I write. I wasn’t expecting it to work this way and I’m very grateful. I’ve been listening to the archive and writing every day for at least a week. It’s mostly because of Write-On. I’m trying to find the episode on research you mentioned, but Luddite that I am ..... You are feeding something in me that is very very hungry. Liza Porter, Tucson

Leah Bridget NicoleCommunity/FriendshipI have listened to Write Minded since the first episode, and over the past 2 years I have been spiritually nourished by Brooke and Grant’s thoughtful, open, and curious conversations. The podcast has accompanied me in a way that not all of my friends know how— as an artist! Grant and Brooke, you have made a difference in this writer’s life.

jkolmen50266So interesting!Awesome podcast. Learn a lot about writing and publishing worlds. Love the take away notes. Always gives me something to think about with my own writing. One question: what’s the difference between memoir and biography? Thanks for answering my question on the podcast.

Chrono-MariaWhen I can’t be writing...... as when I’m driving, walking, or doing the mundane...the next best thing is listening to Brooke and Grant, as they lead me into some literary meadow where I can lay down in the grass and listen to the sounds of the writer’s natural world. Thank you both for bringing us along on your journey; for sharing your curiosity, experience and enthusiasm. It keeps me fueled up until I can get back to the page, refreshed and ready, inspired and grateful.

Terry Sue HarmsCalm, Reasonable, and SaneWrite Minded- I came for the writing advice, I stayed for the mental health. This podcast is a great antidote for the toxic shock that is our daily news cycle. As a writer, I’m a keen observer of people, trends, and attitudes, so it’s easy to get whipped up by a distraction of the day. “Crazy times,” “Unprecedented,” and “Insane” are some of the words I hear to describe our state of collective affairs; it’s enough to make us all stark raving mad, out of our right minds. To counter those forces, I turn to Write Minded for much-needed infusions of calm, reasonable and sane discourse. The engaging, informative, and delightful repartee between Brooke and Grant is just the ticket. They and their fascinating guest speakers impart a wealth of information and inspiration to this thought-weary writer. I look forward to every episode.
-
Saturn PonyWonderful and Inspiring PodcastThis podcast is awesome! The hosts Brooke and Grant are completely full of authenticity and graciousness. They have on incredible guests and ask very thoughtful questions. I have learned so much about the writing world. The manner in which the hosts talk to their audience makes everyone who writes, even even if you are simply a person who writes in their journal, feel included in the conversation on the same level as a best selling author. A big plus from listening to this show is how kind and gracious Brooke and Grant are to their guests and each other. At first I thought it was over the top but then I found myself feeling more positive and more kindness towards the world after listening to a show. I haven’t published crap but Brooke and Grant have me feeling like I am an actual writer!
