Excited the girls are back to talk McBeal. I randomly (and I mean randomly) started watching this show that I barely remembered from my childhood last year out of pure curiosity and 90s nostalgia. This is a great watchalong show. I wish they didn’t take A.M. off Amazon video though 😤

I love this podcast it is so awesome to finally find one about this great show from the 90s. Looking forward to hear more from you ladies! I can’t for y’all to talk about season 4 cause that was my fav season plus Robert Downey jr was great too. I never liked billy either and even tho the show wasn’t perfect but I still enjoyed it even now:)

Wow, these sisters are so funny and lovely and insightful - I couldn’t quite figure out why I both loved and hated Ally McBeal when I watched it during its first run, but they have nailed it. Lots of troublesome things in the show, but boy do they make it funny. I’m from the states, and I really love my favorite Brits’ points of view. All the funny little asides and regular features within each review, plus their special additions like mail bag, just really add to the fun. I savor (or as the girls might write, savour) these podcasts, because I really hate when it’s over. No matter how you felt about Ally McBeal, you really have to listen to this. Simply wonderful, and five stars aren’t enough.

I can’t believe I haven’t already reviewed Bygones! I love hearing Laura Jane and Eleanor discuss Ally McBeal and the 90s, especially since we’re about the same age. It’s great to revisit the show as an adult and to hear other women’s thoughts on it since I only had my grandma to talk about it with as a young teen. The host banter is anything but Sub-Zero. Keep it up, ladies!

I began listening to Bygones last week, and I am so, so thankful I found it! It’s been such a blast re-watching Ally McBeal and then hearing LJ and Eleanor’s modern day take. They do an excellent job of keeping their critiques intelligent and honest without sacrificing humor and lightheartedness. Bravo!

Even without having seen a single episode of Ally McBeal, I love this podcast! Hosts/sisters Laura-Jane and Eleanor provide the perfect amount of context to follow along with the plot, plus lively commentary mixed with hilarious recurring segments. The best part is revisiting such a thoroughly 90s show from a 2018 perspective. It’s fascinating to hear the sisters evaluate iconic TV (once deemed so progressive) through the lens of today, especially when it comes to gender politics. I may start watching Ally McBeal just to enjoy this fancast even more!

I was OBSESSED with Ally McBeal as a teenager, so much that I dreamed of moving to Boston to be a lawyer, just like her. (That did not happen...) In general, I love podcasts that examine shows episode by episode, and this is no exception. These British sisters bring insightful commentary to the table, often putting the show through a current-day lens. Surprise, surprise, there were a lot of issues with it. Even though they're huge fans of the show, they always call those out. It's also interesting to hear a foreign perspective on various details that come up within the episodes. Sometimes I forget how American certain things are! Especially if you already love the Ally McBeal or are watching it for the first time, you need this podcast in your life! -Katie
