I really like the “my friends might not like to hear the truth, but here it is.” Attitude. Keep up the great work!

    opinion on the ahow
Danny has a great presence and personality. His gifts ate great dry humor, sarcasm, and the ability to connect with hos guests and audience. So regardeless, every episode is worth the listen.
  • DennyG28
    Always interesting
This is a down to earth beer podcast that is mostly centered around southern California. They talk to brewers about the brewing and business of beer sometimes reaching out to states other than California

    Great beer info
It’s a great podcast to know more about craft beers and the industry. It’s helped to become more educated about beer.

A must suscribe to beer podcast!
Great podcast that gets you in the mind of some of the best brewers from around the country. I just found this podcast about a month ago and it hasn’t disappointed. Keep up the great work!

    Balanced POV
Nice to hear perspectives from different brewers, owners and other industry folks. Not overly technical on the brewing side and not overly fan boy on the beer culture side. Much improved once Danny became main interviewer. Keep them coming!

The song is driving me nuts
BUT, Danny is pulling great interviews. The guests and topics are informative and often thought provoking. Every show has a special nugget.
  • WillyG1977
    The information is fantastic
Like some other reviews, I don’t typically enjoy Danny’s interview style and sound, but he gets great guests and has the fantastic ability to get them to talk about truly interesting topics. There’s a lot of knowledge dropped on these episodes and a lot of interesting topics.

    5 stars
The Full Pint is by far the best beer podcast I’ve found so far. They don’t taste any beers on the show or rate beers, but instead interview people in the industry. I’ve learned a lot from this show, and now listen regularly. Even though I’ve given them 5 stars, I can understand where some of the other reviewers are coming from. The two pet peeves of mine: 1) the host (Danny Fullpint) comes off as stuffy, even snobby sometimes. He also talks in a very strange monotone way lol. But he’s a good interviewer and knows his stuff. Someone needs to tell him to stop asking every guest about IP (intellectual property) tho! Lol. He’s obsessed with this topic and talks about it every. single. episode. We get it, you think it’s risky. Also, he’s probably the only one that thinks it’s funny when he says “sick hazies.” Smh. 2) Firestone Walker is a sponsor of the podcast. Besides the paid advertisements they’re obliged to read, they manage to bring up FW multiple times every episode it seems like. At times it can seem like an hour long commercial. Other than those two things, I love the show.

    Great Guests and Interviews
The guests on this podcast have either started, or work at, some of the best breweries in the country. I feel like I learn something new from each guest. Shout out to Danny Full Pint for bringing in these folks each week, and for conducting a great interview.

    Sick Hazies
The host should say “sick hazies” in that stupid voice every episode because that’s what people want to hear.

Best all around podcast for the craft beer industry
There are tons of podcasts out there about beer, most of them try to be funny and a little informative. The Full Pint is all information all the time. Excellent interviews with prominent figures from the craft beer world. If you want to learn about what’s going on with Indie beer, this is the podcast for you.

    Great conversations!
Big fan of the variety of guests on the show. Have equally enjoyed the episodes from both older (Mitch Steele, Rob Tod) and newer (La Cumbre, Bruery, Funk Factory Geuzeria, Noble Ale Works) brewers/breweries
  • notaprude
    Profanity NOT needed
The use of gratuitous profanity by the interviewer adds nothing to the podcast. There have been many great, professional brewers interviewed, Mitch Steele for example, who seemed to be set aback, and annoyed by the numerous F Bombs. The interviewer needs to realize that he's not talking to his buddies, and that it doesn't make him sound cool. He must learn how to communicate more effectively, and he'll become more listenable to a more diverse audience.

    Great Idea buuuut
Horrible execution. Love hearing behind-the-scenes stories but the sound quality makes it nearly unlistenable.
  • hop_hero
    Great Guests Horrible Quality
The full pint gets amazing access to Brewers and breweries but unfortunately it's hit or miss if you can hear them or not. A sound engineer is needed. There could also be more attention paid to the line of questioning during the interview. No good follow up questions are asked. The host also has a speech pattern and habits that remove me from the conversation.

More cicerones need to listen to this PODcast
No where else can you find such an amazing passion for local brewing, particularly in sourthern California. Javi tends to follow me everywhere I love to go for great craft beer, and at first it scared me. But, this guy has a love for artisional beer at its finest, and he finds the best people to talk to and asks all the best questions. I am primarily and wine enthusiast (as fancy term for wino), but this kid knows the craft in craft beer. And, I am addicted to this PODcast because of his insights and expertise that he gathers from legends of brewing here in California. Thanks for an amazing PODcast, and keep up the great work!

Bringing the best of beer to those who love it
This podcast is an outstanding way to get closer than ever to the world of craft beer. The guest list reads like a "Who's Who" and each episode further deepens listeners' ties to the craft beer community. Javi's passion shines through as he hosts each episode. He clearly does his homework and cares about his product. At times it seems a touch unpolished, but when it's authentic that's not necessarily a problem. What I would like to see cleaned up at times is the excessive use of profanity, not because cursing has no place in the show, but because when overdone it loses its effect. I appreciate how the show has generally evolved into a more professional, yet still completely relatable, podcast. When I first subscribed I was pumped to download an episode with Three Weavers from the archives, but was disappointed that it was essentially amateur hour for a good chunk of that recording. More recently, the podcast has remained fun and entertaining while becoming increasingly informative and useful as a listener. There does tend to be an L.A. focus, which I prefer as an L.A. resident and which is understandable given that's where the Full Pint team is clearly based. But many of the topics addressed are meaningful everywhere, and recent episodes have branched out to Boulevard (Kansas City) and an independent brewery in New Jersey that's stirring the pot in a good way. One thing I would like to hear from Javi at times is an appropriate level of pushing back on guests. When done respectfully, there's no harm in disagreeing with someone even though they're doing a favor by giving their time to be a guest. Using the Boulevard episode as an example, of course a current employee (in marketing, no less) for a brewery that was previously bought by a bigger brewery will tip-toe around the hot-button issue of Wicked Weed's acquisition by AB. There are the typical speaking points - still making good beer, still providing jobs on the community, the influx of resources to bring good beer to more people. Sniff out the BS! Top-notch breweries often see a decline in quality as time passes after an acquisition due to scale and other issues related to the parent company's bottom line. Layoffs ("restructurings") are common when one company is bought by another. And while good beer may well get to more people, it often comes at the expense of true craft brewers, those who are local and independent, due to big beer's political philosophy and influence. So yeah, it is important to give a strong voice to those true to the craft. If nothing else, give places like Jester King, The Rare Barrel and Modern Times a shout-out for their responses to the Wicked Weed/AB news. That way, reason is used to refute PR spin without making it personal. A disagreement doesn't have to call for a heated exchange that hijacks the episode, but in certain cases like the example above, there should be a healthy amount of tension between host and guest. OK, rant over. Overall the show delivers quality content, from clearly passionate people, who in turn further fuel my passion for beer. Cheers to that!
