If you had told me a decade or so ago that someday I’d be hanging onto every word of GWB’s former speechwriter, I’d have said you’re crazy. But that’s the one silver lining of these terrible times: finding common ground across political identities. Frum never fails to enlighten me. I am grateful.

I stumbled onto The David Frum Show’s first episode while reading an excellent article by Mr. Frum in The Atlantic. It couldn’t have come at a better time. Current events have left me with the feeling I was alone in thinking that all this can’t be happening. While news articles are focused on documenting the latest assault on normalcy, the podcast not only analyzes events and trends, but it puts them into such an amazing perspective. Mr. Frum always seems to find some of the most intelligent and credentialed leaders in their field to interview. It gives me hope there are adults in the room and that just as this current madness had a beginning, it will have an end.

Masterful, incredibly interesting. thoroughly enjoyed him on Tim’s show, so glad he has his own now for all of us to enjoy. Thank you for your work David.

Aside from the excellent production, the obvious advance work done in preparation for each episode, and the incredible guests that shed so much light on each subject, it’s the personal and professional values that David Frum and his team imbue each episode with that makes this one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to. Those values matter. Whether it’s truth, balance, compassion, integrity, honesty, humility, or other character traits that define us, David and his team not only bring them in spades, but they are the foundation of this podcast and each of its episodes. Whenever I can find content from David, I do my best to consume it. Sometimes I even slow down from 1.5 times to one to make sure I can capture and absorb the complex insights that he shares. He thinks and speaks with a clarity and a depth that is rare in today’s discourse.

So glad David Frum has a podcast. Always enlightening and always hits the mark.

I hear Dems, Dem consultants and Podcasts rattle on endlessly as to the shortcomings of the Dem brand and why they got smoke checked in 2016, almost lost 2020 and prison rape in 2024, or why their base left them for a conman. They have all sorts of theorems to describe their catastrophe. There is but one theorem that never crosses their mind or comes out of their mouth: Maybe there are just more MAGAs than Dems. 2 of the last 3 elections would seem to point to this possibility. The fact that our World, via nature, produces more Deplorables than halfway decent people should surprise nobody that's spent more than 15-minutes out in that World, yet my theorem remains unspoken. You'll find a Dem using the "N" word before you ever find one spouting my theorem. This seems a reasonable theorem in need of further analysis. I think MAGA will do much better in the mid-terms than the Dems think possible; besides Trump will never allow the election to go forward if polls show the MAGAs losing the House. All is lost. Get out while you can.

Always a novel and insightful take

Cogent, topical, intelligent, thoughtful discourse. Sorely lacking in today’s media but much appreciated.

David Frum is without a doubt one of the most brilliant public intellectuals of our time. His encyclopedic knowledge of history, politics, international relations, law and just about any subject you can imagine is breathtaking. Every time he speaks you will learn something new or see an issue from an angle you never thought of. This doesn’t mean he is always right—but good luck trying to find someone who has managed to foresee virtually every escalating crisis of the Trump years since 2016 while also being vindicated again and again when it comes to his warnings for the Democrats during those same years—from immigration (2017 Atlantic main feature article) to Biden’s cognitive collapse, to the war in Ukraine. There is not a single other voice in the country’s discourse who adds more value or more insight than David Frum.

He is one of the guests that I like hearing from the most on the Bulwark. It’s great that he has is own podcast now.

Love David Frum, he is really insightful and has a gift for tying complex topics together in an easy to understand way. Highly recommend.

What a comfort to listen to an intelligent soul who can be deep, thoughtful and does not yell at you!! It’s refreshing to listen to someone who is not hateful. David feels like a person I can invite into my home and have a good glass of wine!
