    A Voice For Human Rights
Jay Nordlinger is a soft-spoken champion for those who would see an end to regimes who rule their citizens through heavy-handed oppression. Russia, China, and Iran all provide ready interview subjects who have endured the cruelty those governments inflict upon those who resist their authoritarian control, but victims of other countries’ predations make appearances, as well: Venezuela, Sudan, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Saudi Arabia, to name a few. However, not all of the episodes feature such grim, but valuable, content. Jay also is a music critic, and so brings the listener interviews with notable artists from symphonies and opera. Sports and commentary from thoughtful sources - the occasional interviews with George Will, for example - provide an eclectic selection from which the well-rounded intellect may indulge.

Consistent production problem in otherwise outstanding podcast
I like, but PLEASE stop overlaying the closing music over the end of the guest's remarks. Jay continues to thank his producer, but this is an AWFUL production issue.

    New Party
Jay nailed it with his last question. We need leaders who put the country’s interests first NOT their own or their party’s (as was on full display Jan 6). Love the podcasts!

I like the way Jay speaks.
I really enjoy listening to Jay’s Q and A podcast. Jay has great guests but c’mon Jay is the best part.

    Well worth the time!
Jay Nordlinger is a gem. He could make an interview of Joe Biden interesting.

    Jay N, Peter R, James L, J Miller, B Dominech, etc:
Best interviewers ever. Pace those who I missed like D Miller, T Senik, etc. and powerline. These are the best.

    Hypocrite? A Waste of Time?
I have followed Jay for many years through the National Review and the New Criterion. I always thought of him as a "nice guy" and a great music critic. However, I find his interviewing skills to be lacking becasue he never, ever pushes back. He interviews Fred Hiatt of the Washington Post Opinion page and they lament about Muslims being abused in China, but crickets about Post's efforts to destroy America from within. It would be great if Jay had asked what it is like to run an opinion section for the richest man in the world and is he influenced by him. No, that might make Jay seem mean. In his interview of Dr. Mankiw, we are treated to more vacuous talk. Dr. Mankiw says that as an economist we need to look at all policies as having pros and cons. During the discussions of UBI, Jay never follows up by asking directly the pros and cons. All we get, is it mighht be nice. At the end of the interview we are that Dr. Mankiw is voting for Biden, becasue of Trump's character, you know Ukraine and all of that, but failing to mention Biden's "character issues" around, you know Ukraine, China, lying about Gen Flynn's prosecution, etc. Its farce of course because like every Bush appointee the underlying needof the eliteis to get back to that "global thing" and put the deplorables in their place. The interview was a waste of time, and added nothing to the reall issues facing us today in a di vided county. My podcast time is limited and I will be listening anymore.

    Tim Alberta
I’m a fan and long time listener and reader, 76, business owner, veteran, PhD. Nothing wrong with listening to an opposite point of view. That is what we teach in college classes, or used to teach prior to the current madness. However, Mr Alberta was of such a left wing anti Trump disposition, that I found the interview biased and unpleasant and did not make it all the way to the end. Then I realized that he is from Politico and thought to myself, “I should have known.” Politico is not known for its conservative positions nor for its objectivity. Love Powerline and appreciate all you do but will not be listening to Mr Alberta. Regards, Raleigh Seay

    Jay Nordlinger’s finest
As a Gen Z child, I thought I find Jay Nordlinger’s intellectual sneer to be a turn off. But not so! Nordlinger is incredibly personal and soothing in conversation with his various guests. Each topic of conversation is diverse, from the current state of politics to social issues affecting everyday lives. The only thing that holds this podcast back from being even better is the audio quality. Nordlinger’s voice and the guest’s voice sound fuzzy and echoey. Perhaps the producers could adjust this blip?

    Great interviewer!
Jay interviews on his podcast as he does in his writing on National Review. His questions are clear and concise; the focus is on the person being interviewed. Whether on podcast or in print, I always come away enlightened about the person whom Jay is highlighting. The gentle intelligence with which he speaks/writes paves the way for an enjoyable, entertaining, and enlightening experience!

Five star show, with one little quibble
Jay, I love the show! But please, please fix the audio and/or invest in better microphones. You sometimes sound like you’re talking in a tunnel.

    Not very professional
Low quality sound. Clunky, amateurish interviewing.

    An Educated Gentleman
Jay Nordlinger is such a treat to listen to. His style is relaxing, thoughtful, and intellectually fulfilling. The topics are interesting and many are never addressed elsewhere.

    Conversational podcasting at its best
Jay Nordlinger asks wonderful open-ended questions that draw out the best in his guests. Each time a new episode of Q&A arrives, I know that I'm in for a treat.
  • Mysterybug
    Great enjoyment
I appreciate the chance to hear from some of my favorite conservative writers and thinkers. There are few venues where one can have the diversity of ideas presented.
  • Sofrep
    Stories of Freedom
Jay uses his platform to highlight those resisting authoritarianism.

    Fun and thoughtful
Jay is an excellent interviewer with interesting guests every week. I am always excited when I see there is a new Q and A to listen to.

Worth a listen regardless of your views
As someone on the center-left, I find these interviews to be great, in depth, and despite having a conservative slant, Jay is a wonderful host who is happy to ask tough questions and even challenge his own views. Ricochet podcasts as a whole are generally decent for people who want grown-up political discussion, and this is one of the best. Highly recommended.

    Nordlinger is an American Treasure
Eventhough he went to Michigan and I to Ohio State, I never miss one of these. Great guests. Great questions on a wide breadth of topics.

A Podcast too important not to listen to.
Jay Nordlinger is a great interviewer he asks interesting and penetrating questions and gives the interviewee time to answer. No matter the subject music, golf, politics or history you learn something great from every interview. But even more important is the number of human rights activists around the world that Jay interviews. People that should be, in a sane and just world, household names but who you probably never have heard about. Jay gives time to some of the bravest people of the unfree world from Cuba, Russia, China, Venezula. Where ever tyranny pushes down and crushes the people Nordlinger finds the people that refuse to be crushed and lets them tell their story. If we had a school system actually interested in giving people a real education Q&A would be in every class room in America. You owe it to yourself to check this podcast out.
