Living in the Silicon Valley & I'm smiling!!
I came across this podcast by chance and thought i'd give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did. This audiobook is narrated by the author and It's forkn' awesome. So much fun to listen to as I have grown up around home construction sites throughout my life. (And yes, using the nail gun was always scary to me, I avoided it.) I didn't want the story to end but when it dead I loudly cheered in my car. It was that good. I highly recommend it. Thank you Joe Cottonwood

    Wonderful story
The characters are flawed and complicated and incredibly endearing. I found myself worried for Wally and totally engrossed in the story

I didn't want the story to end - I LOVED IT!!
I loved the writers ability to write the book as if I had experienced some of the same things. It made me chuckle several times. Excellent story with a good ending. I loved the voice he used for his buddy - and the fact that he used a female reader for female voices. This is a MUST read!!

    Sticks with you
This story is well written and well read. The story line is sometimes cleaver but it's the telling that has stuck with me months after listening. Forkin' has become a part of my "unspoken" vocabulary, and my DIY termanology is much more colorful. I"m in awe of Joe Cottonwood's talent to tell a story.

Great story. Enjoyed characters, voices, romance, humor and action. Everything I love in a book. Just like I like to be read to.

    Warm and Strong Life Story
The warmth and pacing of this very natural story took over immediately when I started listening to this podcast. Joe and Susan Walker read the story in voices that are authentic and true without gimmicks or effects. The combination makes a remarkable podcast. Don't hesitate. This is a winner.

    Forking Great Story Boss!
I started listening to this audio book one day while jogging. It was a random download that I had made a few days earlier. After the first episode I wasn’t too impressed and I almost deleted it. Still, there was something compelling about it and I continued to listen to a few more chapters. It wasn’t too long before I was hooked. The characters are well-developed and very believable. The story line is compelling with enough subplots along the way to keep it interesting and true to life. The narration is done just right. Joe Cottonwood has earned my respect along with my gratitude and support. This is the first free audio book that I’ve ever enjoyed enough to donate money back to author. I believe that talent and hard work should be rewarded. I’m looking forward to hearing more tales from Mr. Cottonwood very soon. OK, Boss?

    Plumb and true
The characters are well-drawn and authentic. The story is extremely enjoyable. Clear Heart is a title that works on many levels, but first means the knot-free (clear) center (heart) of a tree, which makes the best lumber for building. Now you are ready - go and listen, you won't regret it. "Permission to swear, sir!" still makes me laugh!
